Pushing the dubious comeback line, Anne Davies cherry-picks a recent Gallup report: “its polling in October found little evidence of a surge in young voter turnout beyond what it was in 2004″. But the report goes on to say that variation in youth turnout “would do little to change the candidates’ overall support”. Even on the report’s most conservative estimate, Obama was leading 49-46 — and Gallup’s latest figure is 51-43 [Update: Make that 53-42]. The lesson?
